Wow, 24 hours and not even a pity comment.

You have to do what's right for you; If it helps, you stick with it.

I wonder, however, what will it be like for Moonpie down the road, if Shug still has her birth parents in her life as MP won't. Tough stuff.

It's a good sign that you almost forgot. Parenting two wonderful girls should push the grief about Tron to the background, shouldn't it? Though it's still heartbreaking.

I have no advice about open versus not-so-open adoption.
When it comes to treating ones children 'equal', I like my mom's advice: you can't.
Try too hard, and you end up doing nothing for any of your children. My mom has always tried to do for us that which fitted best with our needs.

Nice new banner!

Before Mea came home to us, we had a foster son, D. He went home under unusual circumstances that not even our social worker understood completely, under ICWA, and multiple state jurisdiction issue. He has been home for 2 1/2 years, and I still think of him often, hope that he is okay, that they are getting him the treatments/meds/counseling he needs. For the longest time it was everyday that I worried, now it's mostly the anniversaries of days, 10-31 the day he was placed with us, his birthday, and always 04-20, the day he left.

I'm very glad that Mea came when she did, as it really eased the pain that I had from his absence, she came home to us exactly 3 months and 2 days after D went home. Until her adoption was finalized, I was in constant worry that she was going to be taken away from me too.

"...for now it is working." I'm finding that being a parent, at least to N., means lots of living in the now. If it's working for you and yours, then so much the better.

I am catching up on blogs now that the election is over.

Sending you and your whole family love and supportive thoughts. What works is what works. Keep doing what feels right.
